Subject: RCC Update
On April 7, 2009, we enhanced the amenities at the RCC by announcing a new Palmira Tennis Club membership program that will commence on May 1, 2009. It was also announced that a new Tennis Professional, Kenny Gibson, has been hired and will begin on May 1, 2009.
The Palmira Tennis Club membership entitles members to benefits and features that will not be available to those who do not become Palmira Tennis Club members. These benefits, membership costs, and an enrollment form available here. See also the Frequently Asked Questions that appear below this message.
Those who do not become tennis members will have limited access and benefits. This new Palmira Tennis Club program becomes effective on May1, 2009.
We encourage all those who have an interest in tennis at any level to review these attachments and become a Palmira Tennis Club member to maximize your tennis experience. You may also view the information on our website at Palmira Tennis Membership.

Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. "Why would I join now when I'm leaving for the summer?" A. It has been our goal to provide a high quality year round tennis program and staff at an "affordable price". We have been able to do that but we need all tennis players to step up and become members now. The costs are modest and these monies will allow us to fund our program between May and the end of 2009. In addition we want to demonstrate to RCC management that we have enough members who will support their Tennis Club with membership dues. One way to look at it is that you will have enjoyed a successful and fun 2009 for a small cost. We all want to return in the fall to find a smooth running and successful tennis program. Our new Head Tennis Professional, Kenny Gibson begins working at Palmira May 1. Membership privileges and court restrictions also begin May 1.
Q. "How much is the membership cost between now and the end of the year?" A. $334.00 plus tax (not including Tennis Advantage credit- see membership form)
Q. "How much is the membership cost for the balance of 2009 when I return in Oct, Nov or Dec." A. $334.00 plus tax. There will be no additional pro-ration this year. Q. How much does the Tennis Membership cost since I am a Golf Club Member? A. The amount to be paid to the RCC for the Tennis Membership is the same for all Palmira resident players. ($354.00 for the remainder of this year and $500.00 next year, less any Tennis Advantage funds). In return the Golf Club will be crediting 50% of the tennis membership dues to the golfer on their next golf dues statement. The RCC will provide the names of Tennis Member/Golfers to the Golf Club. Golfers should not deduct 50% of the Tennis Dues on their payment to the RCC.
Q. Can Tennis Members bring family and house guests to the courts at any time? A. Yes, through the court reservation system already in place.
Q. Regarding inter-club teams for next fall and winter who can apply for a position on the team? A. All Tennis Members may apply for a position on the inter-club teams. The selection is done by the team captains working in concert with the Head Tennis Professional. The captains have agreed that players who are not Tennis Club Members may not apply for a team position and they have agreed thatteam positions will not be reserved for non Tennis Members. The best way to be considered for team position is to become a Tennis Member as early Q. "How can a get a copy of the membership information?" A. Copies can be obtained at the tennis pro shop and the RCC. In a few days you will also be able to find these documents on the Palmira website, Tennis section.
Q. "Who can I contact directly to discuss the Palmira Tennis Club Membership?" A. Ken Bloom- RCC, Noel Goulston or Ed Rusk.
